1. How big do Mini and Micro Highland cattle actually get?
We adhere to strict height standards. Our Micro Highlands generally mature at 36 inches or less at the hip, while our Miniature Highlands stand between 36 to 42 inches. We provide full parentage history and Chondro status (dwarfism genetics) to give you the most accurate size projection possible for your calf.
2. Do I need a large farm to keep a miniature cow?
Not at all. Mini Highlands are popular specifically because they are “acreage efficient.” We recommend a minimum of 1 to 2 acres of pasture per pair. Their smaller size makes them ideal for hobby farms and large backyards (zoning permitting), as they have a lower environmental impact than standard cattle.
3. How does shipping and delivery work?
We make bringing your calf home easy. We work with licensed, insured livestock transporters to provide safe door-to-door delivery across the country. All calves travel with a certified Veterinary Certificate of Veterinary Inspection (CVI) to meet all interstate travel requirements.
4. Are Mini Highlands safe pets for families with children?
Yes, temperament is our #1 breeding priority. Our calves are hand-raised and halter-trained from a young age, earning them the nickname “grass puppies.” While they are still farm animals, our rigorous socialization ensures they are docile, friendly, and safe for families when handled correctly.
5. Do your cattle come with registration and DNA testing?
Absolutely. Transparency is key to our reputation. Every calf is sold with a completed Veterinary Health Exam, negative disease panels, and DNA profiling for parentage. We register our eligible stock with the IMCPS (International Miniature Cattle Breeders Society) or relevant registries to prove their heritage.
